BI: Who is your mentor and the best piece of advice given by her/him?

RS: An important piece of advice I received from one of my mentors, Mr. Lakshmi N. Mittal was, “The key to happiness is all about balance--a combination between fun and loving life in all forms while being successful at the same time.”

BI: What dreams and goals inspired you to succeed?
RS:
Believing in myself and having faith in my abilities.

BI: How do you keep a work-life balance?
RS:
I love that I have a great degree of control and freedom within my job. I work full-time on a flexible schedule, both in and out-of-office, and my boss trusts me to produce high-quality work and results. I work hard to maintain that level of trust, which keeps me engaged and excited — but at the same time, I love that my job enables me to love and enjoy my other passions in life.

BI: How did you get your start?
RS:
After I passed out my MBA from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, I was offered a job through Campus interview with International MNC. And after that, I never looked back in my career.

BI: Which one thing do you wish you’d done differently?
RS: Adopted a morning routine that made sense for me and helped keep me on track and organized.

BI:How do you help a new employee understand the culture of your organization?
RS: Culture is a thoughtful, carefully crafted topology of how individuals MUST engage together if the organization is to succeed. Culture is driven by two factors: what the organization is trying to achieve – strategy – and the means to mobilize its people to work together to achieve the strategy – values.
A new employee needs to understand both in order to “get” the culture of the organization.
Some of the tips are as follows :
- Make the new hire feel comfortable.
- Get them comfortable with their surroundings.
- Make introductions.
- Assign a buddy.
- Make sure they've got someone to sit with at lunch
- Listen to them.
- Have them do some customer service.
- Show new hires how culture guides real decision.

RS:
